Good, authentic, friendly, and charming. People don't come here for Italian haute cuisine, but for the special mix of urbanity, Italianità, and, of course, the owner, Mardo. The furnishings, design, ambiance, and lighting are deliberately simple, almost a little DIY, and therefore pleasantly unusual. Mardo himself is a great host, exceptionally friendly, funny, and very attentive. The food is authentic, solid, and good, as are the wines. And the prices are surprisingly fair for what you get.
