From Lucerne, you can reach the Paradies stop in Baar by train and bus in just over 30 minutes. From there it is a 40-minute walk through the forest, along the river Lorze to the caves. After visiting the stalactite caves, the numerous picnic areas in the surrounding area invite you to linger, or there is a free table waiting in the nearby restaurant, where you can be fed at fair prices. The Höllgrotten and the restaurant of the same name remain closed during the winter months. For nature lovers, however, a trip to the Lorzentobel region is definitely worthwhile even in the cold, quiet season.
